This is a factory windshield. Every piece of glass on this all Toyota. Silly but kind of amazing for a 31 year old car.

A week after we bought my wife's car we had to replace the windshield. A dump truck threw a rock at it

Original Glass!
I never understood that.

I watched a rather large pebble get projected at my windshield from a car tire causing an 18 inch long crack. The car had 300 miles on it. It was a then BRAND new S197 platform. Had to pay $600 out of pocket and fought with the insurance company for 10 months because I demanded Ford glass.

Just means less supposed theft attempts perhaps

And less window-shattering crashes.

Well it’s your fault for angering that dump truck.

It’s a lot harder to tell if you have original glass on a BMW. It’s one of the few things that doesn’t have a BMW logo. And I mean literally everything else on the car has a BMW logo.

A guy saw our MkIII Supra sitting in our driveway with no engine (it’s on a stand in the garage) and offered to sell us a complete, non-running example for $300. Tempted to nab it for parts of it’s in any sort of good shape.

My MR2 (spring chicken at 26 years old) has the original windshield. You can tell because it has a bunch of rego stickers from when it lived in Japan, and it has an in-built aerial which consists of a bunch of weird lines running across the windshield.
It’s a bit weathered but it’s so cool.
You can see the lines a little

My high school Celica had all original glass when my parents finally got rid of it around its 24th birthday...in contrast I was about to need a third windshield on the WRX before I traded it in.

That is pretty cool. I would be happy if my del Sol had the original windshield. Are all of the glass pieces slightly tinted brown? As opposed to bluish?
